If playing Dead Cells on the Nintendo Switch wasn't mobile enough for you, perhaps this new announcement will pique your interest. The "roguevania" from Motion Twin is coming to iOS this summer, courtesy of mobile game publisher Playdigious; a version for Android devices is also planned and will come later.

The game mechanics of dodging and slashing should remain intact, but the interface will be overhauled and redesigned to fit the iPhone and iPad. The UI will be fully customizable, with players able to move and resize buttons to their own liking. Dodging can be achieved with a swipe motion, but this version of Dead Cells promises plenty of more touch control options to choose from.

Players can experience the fast-paced and active gameplay as it was on console and PC, or they can turn on an auto-hit mode—the latter option might be necessary for those having a difficult time being readjusted to the mobile interface. But a more traditional experience is possible, as Dead Cells on iOS will also support MFi external controllers.

This version of the game will support 11 languages and will be sold for $9.99/€9.99—the price is for a premium "full" version of the game, with a free-to-play version having ads and "F2P mechanics," which were not specified. Based on the content of Dead Cells, this will likely come in the form of loot and items for the player to use as they fight through the procedurally-generated castle.

Dead Cells has enjoyed a great deal of success since its release last year, especially on PC and the Switch. While the game will likely not receive a sequel, there has been no indication that development on DLC content will end any time soon, with more on the way. Having a version on mobile platforms could very well boost the popularity of the game.
