Along with the reveal of NiCO, La Mariposa and Kokoro in Dead or Alive 6, Koei Tecmo Games announced Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet for PS4 and Switch. The game will release physically and digitally in Japan on March 20th, for 7800 Yen, excluding tax.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet is the latest DOAX game, following Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Fortune for PS4, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Venus for PS Vita and DMM's browser gacha game Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation. Scarlet will include Misaki, one of the new girls currently exclusive to Venus Vacation. Another girl will be in the game as well, for a total of 11 characters:

  • An unknown character who will be revealed later
  • Misaki
  • Marie Rose
  • Honoka
  • Kasumi
  • Ayane
  • Kokoro
  • Nyotengu
  • Hitomi
  • Momiji
  • Helena

The game will be overall easier to play than previous DOAX games, with less grinding. Moreover, the PS4 version and the Switch version will be different.

The Switch version will use the "4D Soft Engine", a combination of the Soft Engine from past games and the HD Rumble function of the Switch's Joy-Con. Each Joy-Con will vibrate independently depending on the actions of the players.

The PS4 version of the game will include "VR Paradise", a VR mode which was added to Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Fortune with an update in 2017. Just like with Fortune, this mode requires a PlayStation VR and a "VR Passport", which can be bought on the Japanese PlayStation Store for 1620 Yen.

A trailer for the game will be released soon. Early print copies of the game will include a DLC code for two "prohibited swimsuits" costumes. A limited edition was also announced, for 12800 Yen, tax excluded. Sample illustrations weren't published yet, but it will contain:

  • Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet for PS4 or Switch
  • "Extreme Sexy Costume S" Set (11 in total)
  • Venus Collection Photo Book
  • 2 Cards of the "Prohibited Swimsuit" costumes
  • An "Extreme 3D Mouse Pad" of Misaki

A free-to-play version for Switch will also release after the game, more details will be revealed later.

Lastly, some items or functions influencing aspects in the game such as breast physics won't be present in the PS4 version of Scarlet, and this should be related to Sony Interactive Entertainment's new policy which already affected multiple games.

You can find in the gallery below the game's logo, the logo of the "4D Soft Engine", 3D models of the girls from the official site and a sample illustration of Misaki wearing one of the "Prohibited Swimsuit" costumes.
