According to Senior Producer Philippe Ducharme, Motive will "honor the legacy" of the original game and will look at it with the "upmost respect". Ducharme goes on to express how the core foundations of the game will remain the same, but with new enhancements to make the experience enticing for both new and returning players. One of the most interesting features revealed by Motive was the intention of making the game one sequential shot.RELATED: Wild Hearts First Trailer Reveals Gameplay And Release Date"We’re also actually creating the entire game as one sequential shot. From the moment you start the game to the moment you end the game, there are no camera cuts or load screens—unless you die.", Ducharme states in the new blog post. The Senior Producer goes on to state that The Ishimura is now fully interconnected, meaning players can walk from one point of the ship to another in a "completely unbroken experience". Motive goes on to detail a number of new enhancements available in the remake, such as the feeling of moving around in zero gravity. According to Creative Director Roman Campos-Oriola, the Dead Space Remake will feature "much more 360-degree freedom", which will allow players to feel as though they really are in space.

Alongside a plethora of gameplay improvements, Motive state that they have also gone back and looked at the lore of the Dead Space series, which is a lot wider than just the original game. "There was Dead Space 2, Dead Space 3, the comic books—these all added additional lore that we re-injected into the game.", Motive states.

Despite the long blog post detailing all of the new features and improvements, the developers made it clear that their key missions was to honor the original Dead Space and staying true to that experience. Dead Space will release on January 27th, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
