Publisher Square Enix Collective and developer Deadbeat Productions have announced that its 3D brawler Deadbeat Heroes is poised to release for Xbox One and PC on October, 10, 2017.

Deadbeat Heroes takes place in 1970's London, where a new strain of stop-at-nothing super powered criminals have emerged, causing mayhem at a cataclysmic scale. To stop them, the city needs a new breed of superheroes: the new wave of 'Deadbeat Heroes'.

Not born with super powers? No problem. The Deadbeat Heroes are armed with a prototype super gauntlet -- which has the ability to "borrow" powers from others. You will need to win the hearts of the public -- while also trying to not get shot, sliced, lasered, exploded, vaporized, or eaten. Especially not eaten.

Deadbeat Productions notably is comprised of ex-Lionhead and Rockstar developers and features a BAFTA-winning writer in James Leach. Speaking of the game's writing, it is said to be heavily influenced by arcade beat-em-ups and 60s/70's comics.

The aforementioned publisher accompanied today's announcement with a brand new trailer, which you can check out below. At the moment of writing this, a price-point for Deadbeat Heroes has not been revealed.
