You know, of all the announcements that people could predict during today's Nintendo Direct, I don't think anyone could predict this. Today, Nintendo officially announced the sequel to one of the biggest cult horror games of all time, Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise.

The sequel will follow Special Agent Aaliyah Davis as she investigates a serial killer. According to the trailer for the game, the story will also take players back to the original character of the first game, Francis York Morgan. As of the time of the writing, not much else is known about the game, but you can check out the trailer (thanks to YouTube channel GameXplain) at the end of the article to hold you over until its 2020 release date. As of the time of this writing, we don't know a more exact release date for the game.

In another, admittedly less exciting, announcement, the original game will be making its way to Nintendo Switch in the form of Deadly Premonition Origins. From the footage seen in the Direct, it doesn't look like the game was remastered, so it'll be interesting to see if there's anything new in the port.

Unlike its sequel, we do know when the port of the first game is coming to Switch and it's a bit surprising. Deadly Premonition Origins will officially be launching on Nintendo Switch later today.

I never got to play the original Deadly Premonition so I'm genuinely interested in seeing how these two games are received when they launch on Nintendo Switch.
