Compile Heart revealed Death End re;Quest 2 via this week's Famitsu magazine. Death End re;Quest 2 will be launching in Japan on PS4, no release estimate was published as of now.

Death End re;Quest 2 is described by Compile Heart as a brand new entry with new characters and with a new story that will "bring fear and despair to players". The game is also said to be "enjoyable even for those who didn't play the first Death End re;Quest", hinting that this sequel will have few or no plot links with the first game.

Death End Re;Quest 2 will have a scenario penned by Makoto Kedouin, the author of horror game series Corpse Party, returning from the first entry. The character design is also again handled by Kei Nanameda, who worked on multiple other Compile Heart games, such as Trillion: God of Destruction. The Famitsu magazine preview shows some of the game's characters. we'll learn more when the magazine releases on Thursday JST.

The first Death End re;Quest, available on PS4 and PC, is a mix between a horror visual novel and a turn-based RPG. The game deals with game development and characters trapped inside a game and as such has "bugs" and development related elements as gameplay features.  You can learn more with our review.

There's a high chance Death End re;Quest 2 will be announced for the west as well. No announcements have been made for now, however.
