Today Compile Heart released the first trailer of its upcoming JRPG Death end re;Quest.

The game tells the story of a programmer named Shin Mizunashi, who undertakes a mission to rescue Shiina Nininmiya. Having disappeared a year before, Shiina sends Shin a mail, revealing that she is trapped in a VRMMORPG the development of which has been canceled due to irreparable glitches.

The game is set both in the real world and in the world of the game, and will be a PS4 exclusive, even if we don’t know of a release window just yet, either for Japan or for the west.

The trailer focuses mostly on introducing the two protagonists and the theme of the glitches, even if we do get to see a small glimpse on an environment for a few seconds.

On top of the video, we also get the full key artwork, which you can enjoy at the bottom of the post.

If you want to see more, you can also watch a behind-the-scenes video giving a further glimpse on 3D models, UI and more, and a bath of screenshots from Famitsu.
