Kojima Productions confirms that the final trailer for Death Stranding Director’s Cut will drop one day before Sony’s PlayStation Showcase.

Yesterday we reported that Sony will be holding their PlayStation Showcase next week. The event will take place on Thursday, September 9 at 4 pm ET, 1 pm PT and 9 pm BST and will last around 40 minutes.

Sony has said that the show will provide updates from “some of the industry’s most imaginative developers” about games releasing in 2021 “and beyond.”

We speculated that Death Stranding Directors Cut was likely to be one of them. This is due to the remaster releasing a short time later, on September 24, 2021.

Where Can You Watch Death Stranding Director’s Cut Final Trailer?

Kojima Productions has now confirmed that the final trailer for Death Stranding Director’s Cut will drop on Wednesday, September 8at 4 PM/JST, 8 AM/BST, 12 AM/PST. To watch the 'Final Trailer', you can head on over to Kojima's YouTube channel to get in on the action first-hand at the times stated.

This is one whole day before Sony’s livestream event. It’s possible that Death Stranding could still appear during Sony’s PlayStation Showcase, but this reveal reduces the likelihood. However, Kojima Productions may have something else planned for the livestream event.

What Can We Expect From The Trailer?

The final trailer will likely show off some new features, such as its updated graphics and new PS5 exclusive content. As far as we know, the Director's Cut won't feature any major new gameplay chapters or additional DLC.

Instead, the update will likely offer quality-of-life improvements and any content that was cut from the original release. But for a full breakdown of what's coming, we'll need to wait and see.

We do know that the new version will get the usual PS5 upgrade treatment. This means haptic controller rumbling, adaptive triggers and options for 3D audio. Naturally, the game will also run in 4K at a solid 60FPS.

A Widescreen Mode for PS5 will be added alongside Performance Mode. The former offering a more cinematic approach while the latter will provide crisp visuals and faster loading times.

Current owners of Death Stranding on PS4 will be able to upgrade to PS5 but at the cost of an additional $10 USD. We also expect that the final trailer may offer a few surprises to entice PS5 owners to buy the latest edition instead of the older version.
