Death Stranding Fan Art Captures a Somber Norman Reedus
With everyone wondering when Death Stranding will release, let's take the weight off and marvel in some Norman Reedus fan art
As we lay waiting like helpless baby birds in the nest for the next small morsel of information to be flown in from Hideo Kojima, we bide our time with fan art and obscure twitter posts. Lately, we’ve seen Kojima reveal on Twitter that Disney’s Mary Poppins had a role to play in Death Stranding. Apparently, the character who is played by Léa Seydoux was influenced by the all singing magical nanny herself. With an umbrella in hand, we can see the resemblance – as strange as it may be.
In the run-up to what we hope is a release date, eager fans of the impending Death Stranding take to crafting some wonderful pieces of art. Going by the name of ithinkittoo on Instagram and Reddit, this particular creator encapsulates Sam in Death Stranding who is played by The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus. Using the software Procreate, ithinkittoo digitally pencils in Norman’s features with incredible accuracy – taking the time to fill in the details that make Mr. Reedus so recognizable. For instance, his unique mole above the left side of his top lip and those intense, piercing eyes that look like they haven’t seen sleep in years.
Also, the shading the artist has woven into the picture gives it a mysterious and dark presence – personally, I don’t think it would have worked as well if colors were used. It seems like Hideo Kojima agrees too after personally liking the art piece on Instagram – obviously, making ithinkittoo’s year!
The bottom line really is that Death Stranding causes a whole hell of a lot of fuss, even film director Joe Penna saying it is unlike anything he’s ever seen and Jordan Vogt-Roberts – who is directing the Metal Gear Solid movie – getting his mind blown after Hideo Kojima let him play some of Death Stranding.
Here’s hoping this electric build-up will be justified when the time comes for fans to play it, but until then, we can be happily content with some amazing fan art.
As we know, Death Stranding currently doesn’t have a release window, but it is planning on coming to PS4. If you want to show your early support for the developer, feel free to pre-order the game on Amazon.
