Death Stranding Pre-Order Bonuses, Special Editions, and Collector’s Edition Unveiled

All of the special editions of Death Stranding have been unveiled by Sony Interactive Entertainment America and Kojima Productions.

After years of waiting, we have just learned that Hideo Kojima’s PS4 exclusive Death Stranding will finally be releasing on November 8, 2019 through a new trailer. Following that confusing yet captivating trailer’s release, Sony Interactive Entertainment America Global Brand Manager David Bull took to PlayStation Blog to unveil the Standard Edition, Special Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition and Collector’s Editions for Kojima Production’s Death Stranding.

If you choose to pre-order the Standard Edition of Death Stranding for $59.99, you will receive the game itself, a PSN avatar featuring a chibi version of Kojima Productions’ mascot Ludens immediately, and a dynamic theme based on the game at launch. There will also be in-game items for pre-order no matter what version you decide to pick up. These are:

  • Gold “Sam” Sunglasses
  • Gold Hat
  • Gold Speed Skeleton: Increase the speed of Sam’s movement when equipped
  • Gold Armor Plate: Increase protection against any damage Sam takes

Next up is $69.99 Death Stranding Special Edition, which includes everything from the Standard Edition, a Steelbook case, Gold “Ludens Mask” Sunglasses in-game, and Death Stranding: Timefall, which features a digital download of the game’s music album and a behind the scenes video about its creation.

For $79.99 on the PS Store, you will be able to net yourself the Death Stranding Digital Deluxe Edition. This version of the game comes with the Standard Edition content, Death Stranding: Timefall, and the following items:

  • Gold “Ludens Mask” Sunglasses
  • Gold Power Skeleton: Enhance Sam’s ability to handle heavy cargo
  • Gold All-Terrain Skeleton: Enhance Sam’s ability to balance himself on uneven terrain
  • Gold Armor Plate (Level 2): Stronger protection for Sam against falls, gunfire, and more

Finally, if you are willing to drop $199.99 on the game, which I’m sure many Hideo Kojima fans are, you can pick up Death Stranding Collector’s Edition. This expensive package comes with all of the previously discussed bonuses as well as a Life-sized BB Pod Statue, ad BRIDGES Cargo Case, and a Ludens key chain.
