Ever since its debut at E3 2016, Death Stranding has been eagerly awaited as the next project from Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, especially due to its mysterious story and not yet knowing what the game exactly is yet. While we now know that the game is set to arrive at the end of this year, those waiting for the game can now experience a striking fan recreation in the style of early PlayStation games.

YouTube user Hoolopee has created a "PS1 trailer" for Death Stranding that, as its name implies, recreates the original E3 2016 reveal trailer for the game in the graphics and animation style of a PS1 game. It's safe to say that if you played any PS1 games back in the day, the trailer manages to evoke the pixelated, blocky style of those games pretty remarkable, while also crafting a trailer that manages to capture the spirit of the haunting reveal trailer for Death Stranding really well.

Other than the release date, in terms of other Death Stranding news we recently learned several more details on the game prior to E3 2019. Specifically, that included the reveal of several new cast members in the game such as Nicolas Winding Refn and Margaret Qualley, along with a host of new gameplay and story details that shed (some) light on what to expect from Kojima's mysterious new project.

Death Stranding will release for PS4 on November 8, 2019, and you can pre-order the game now over on Amazon. In the meantime, you can check out the PS1-style trailer below:
