Arkane Studios' Deathloop may have been delayed to spring 2021, but the game continues to show well for the studio. At today's PS5 Showcase, the team gave us a better look at how you'll tackle the sticky situation of needing to murder eight people in one day before the time loop resets. It's full of stylish action that has me wanting it to be next year already. Check it out below.
For a deeper breakdown of what you'll get up to in Deathloop, the PlayStation blog has a new write-up from the team. It talks about how you'll need to learn the habits of people in the time loop so that you can murder them in a single day. Of course, your eight targets are all over the island, so careful planning and a little improvisation are in order.
Plus, there's always the looming threat of Julianna Blake. She's one of your targets, but, unlike the others, she doesn't wait for you to find her. Instead, she'll constantly be hunting you down. Taking it a step further, she can be a playable character, adding a bit of chaos in optional multiplayer mode.
Deathloop might be the game I'm most excited to play right now that's not made by Ryu Ga Gotuku Studio. Its brand of over-the-top style gives me vibes of Timesplitters: Future Perfect, which is probably my favorite FPS. And it has a time loop, something I'm always a sucker for.
Fortunately, we don't have to wait too much longer. Deathloop is set to launch next spring for PC and PS5. If you missed the PS5 Showcase today, make sure to check out the site for all your news.
