As the creators behind last year's Life is Strange: Before the Storm, a prequel installment of the critically-acclaimed Life is Strange series, developer Deck Nine Games certainly made a name for themselves in deepening the series' roots, and now the studio's partnership with publisher Square Enix will appear to be continuing in the future.

Square Enix has announced that the company is continuing its partnership with Deck Nine Games after the release of Before the Storm and detailed that the company will publish a new project from the studio.

Square Enix External Studios' head Lee Singleton explained that Square's partnership with Deck Nine "has been a huge success" based on their work on Before the Storm, and added that "the opportunity to work with Deck Nine on another game was an easy decision."

While the studio is at work on a new project, Square said that the project is "under wraps for now," so there's no knowing just yet whether the new project will be set in the Life is Strange universe, or an entirely new project.

In preparation for working on the new project, Deck Nine has begun expanding the studio's team with new members, and also will be looking for a new Creative Director role in the near future alongside other roles, such as programmers, artists, and more.
