After a small delay, the aptly named Dekavita 7 ("Deka" in Japanese means "Giant") is finally ready for its Japanese launch date on September 17th, and today manufacturer Gametech opened pre-orders for the contraption. You can find them here.

The Dekavita 7 is a weird but clever device that can house a PS Vita TV (or PlayStation TV, as it has been renamed in the west), turning it into a portable console with a 7 inches IPS screen, L2 and R2 triggers and clickable L3 and R3 analog sticks.

It can even be connected to a PS3, and act as both a DualShock 3 and a handheld monitor. Probably it works as the latter with the PS4 and any other device with an HDMI port, but it won't work as a controller.

The monitor resolution is 1024 × 600, the weight is about 550 g (excluding the PS TV), and the size is about 259mm x 140mm x 32mm. It comes with a 5000mAh battery granting about three hours of gameplay.

Gametech also recently released a trailer, showcasing how the Dekavita 7 works. The price for normal pre-orders will be 24,840 yen, which translates to 199 bucks.
