At the Dragon Quest Summer Festival 2019 in Tokyo, Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition will be receiving a demo. However, a release date for the demo was not revealed.

Square Enix stated that if you keep your saved data from the demo, players will then receive a "Skill Seed" as a bonus for when they purchase and play the full game when it is released.

On top of that, once players access the demo and create some saved date, they will be given the premium hero card “The One Descended from Erdrick [S]” in Dragon Quest Rivals, the free-to-play card battle game on the Switch.

Square Enix also revealed that players will be able to revisit the world from Dragon Quest X in Dragon Quest XI S because it will be one of the past Dragon Quest Worlds players will have access to travel too.

I am happy to see that Square Enix is bringing a demo of the game before the official release date. Demos usually give a chance for players like me who are a bit unfamiliar with the franchise to try out the game and make a smart decision on if they should purchase the game or not.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition will be releasing for the Switch on September 27. If you would like to get some further details on the game, make sure to check out DualShockers' official review of the original title.
