On December 22, Aniplex announced the Demon Slayer game coming to mobile, Kimetsu no Yaiba Keppuu Kengeki Royale, will be delayed. The game was supposed to launch before the end of 2020, on iOS and Android in Japan.Kimetsu no Yaiba Keppuu Kengeki Royale is described as an asymmetrical survival battle opposing the demons and the Demon Slayer Corps, reproducing the popular TV anime series.Aniplex explained the delay is to "further improve the quality of the game" . This is the by the book justification to delay a game in the Japanese game industry, where games regularly gets delayed, Covid-19 or not. A new release date estimate was not published yet.The announcement was made through the game's official site, and shared via Twitter:

Kimetsu no Yaiba Keppuu Kengeki Royale was announced in March 2020 alongside Kimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutan. Which is a PS4 game adaptation by CyberConnect2. The studio behind the dot hack JRPG series is highly reputed when it comes to adapting Shonen manga into good games. Thanks to its masterful work with the Naruto series.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is an incredibly popular manga by Koyoharu Gotōge. It ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 15, 2016, to May 18, 2020. A first TV anime adaptation by Studio Ufotable aired in 2019. A first anime movie titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train released on October 16, 2020, in Japan. As a direct sequel to the TV series, and adapting more of the original manga, the movie quickly became the second highest-grossing film of all time in Japan.

The original Kimetsu no Yaiba manga is now one of the best selling manga of all time. With over 40,3 million copies sold. Koyoharu Gotōge hasn't started a new manga yet.
