A rumor has been going around, claiming the season 2 of Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba, the Entertainment District Arc (Yukaku-hen), will have its first episodes covering the Mugen Train arc, covering the same manga chapters as the record-breaking movie.

Demon Slayer S2 first episodes will cover the Mugen Train arc - Where did the rumor come from?

The rumor claiming Demon Slayer S2 will include the Mugen Train arc was first shared by Spytrue. A leaker who regularly has access to magazines such as V Jump and Shonen Jump before they're released. Even earlier than Japanese magazine leaker blog Ryokutya. This is how they leak information, and why this rumor has a pretty good chance of being true.

In the next few days, it's likely new information on Demon Slayer S2 will be released in those magazines, officially announcing the first episodes will focus on Mugen Train.

With that said, there are several points to keep in mind, as many fans seem to be confused as to what "the anime will cover the Mugen Train arc" actually means.

Demon Slayer season 2 - What does the Mugen Train arc readaptation rumor means?

Ufotable, the studio behind season 1 and the Mugen Train movie, is also handling season 2. In other words, Mugen Train will not be completely re-animated as Ufotable can simply reuse its work from the movie.

If the rumor is true, this will be a similar situation as series such as Dragon Ball Super, which showed part of the previously released Battle of Gods movie in its story. However, it's likely some scenes from the Mugen Train movie will be added, modified, or improved. Maybe the infamous CG scenes will get changed.

It's also important to note Fuji TV will be broadcasting the Mugen Train movie on September 25. Which is a few days before the start of Season 2.

It's possible the Mugen Train arc TV version in Demon Slayer S2 will also include some of the arc's aftermath, not included in the movie. Such as Tanjiro meeting with Kyojuro's father.

In any case, keep in mind this wasn't officially confirmed yet. While I do believe it myself, I'll personally be fully convinced when we see leaks from Japanese leakers or an official announcement.

Keep in mind a Demon Slayer game is coming at the same time as season 2. Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles launches October 15 worldwide, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Last but not least, you can watch Mugen Train digitally.
