Aniplex announced on February 14 the Demon Slayer TV anime adaptation will be getting a season 2 in 2021. The season will be a direct sequel to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train and adapt the Yukaku arc from the original manga. As such, in Japanese the new TV anime is officially titled Kimetsu no Yaiba Yukaku-hen.A key visual and an announcement trailer were revealed and can be found below. Alongside the first staff and cast details. The details most notably revealed Tengen Uzui will be voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi.Ufotable will be handling the animation production of Demon Slayer season 2, and the staff and cast are returning from the first season. Comments from Natsuki Hanae, the seiyuu voicing Tanjiro, were published as well, and he told fans to "look forward to it".

The new TV anime season of Demon Slayer was announced at the "Kimetsu Matsuri Online Anime 2nd Anniversary Festival". The program, region-locked to Japan on streaming service Abema TV, also revealed the first live gameplay footage for Kimetsu no Yaiba Hinokami Keppuutan, the Demon Slayer game releasing in 2021 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Moreover, an OST for the first Demon Slayer TV anime season was also announced for May 26 in Japan.  Latly, an OST CD for the November 2020 orchestra concert is also releasing on August 25. Thefirst print limited edition will contain a bluray disc with footage of the concert:

While the original Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga ran from February 2016, to May 2020, the first TV anime adaptation by Studio Ufotable, aired in 2019, has been incredibly popular. The movie sequel, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train released on October 16, 2020, in Japan. It became in 73 days the highest-grossing film of all time in Japan. It was only a matter of time until a new TV anime season would be announced.
