Demon Slayer has been taking the world by storm, with the Mugen Train movie hitting records in the American box office - and now, a Demon Slayer version of Tamagotchi have been spotted, but is it official, and how do you get one?

Are the Demon Slayer Tamagotchi real and official?

Seeing the unmatched popularity of the TV anime series and the Mugen Train movie, Bandai started officially publishing in Japan Tamagotchi toys based on Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Tamagotchi and Demon Slayer ultimately share a good chunk of their target audience in Japan, they're mainly for kids. Demon Slayer might have some pretty gory parts at times, it was in Shonen Jump, which is ultimately a kids magazine.

Which Demon Slayer characters got their own Tamagotchi?

First, two Tamagotchi, with Nezuko and Tanjiro respectively, came out in October 17, 2020. Later on, two other models, this time with Zenitsu and Inosuke, were launched on December 5, 2020. Since then, several more for other characters have been released, including the Hashira. Now, Bandai has imported the Tamagotchi to the West.

How to buy and get the Tamagotchi

Bandai is selling them through its official shop. You can also find them on several online shops, including Amazon. They're sold at $25 a piece usually. Keep in mind it's the Japanese versions of the Tamagotchi, and it looks like there are no plans to make English versions. With that said, Tamagotchi is so simple that the language barrier shouldn't be an issue.

Demon Slayer Mugen Train is still in cinemas in USA. the Bluray and DVD disc releases of the movie are also coming in a few weeks.

Aniplex and Studio Ufotable already announced a sequel to Mugen Train, a new Demon Slayer TV series, adapting the Red Light District arc, is in production. Demon Slayer season 2 will be launching sometime in late 2021.
