There have been a lot of developments over the past few months that have indicated the Demon's Souls remake for PS5 might be closer to launching than we first expected. After being unveiled back in June, numerous new screenshots, and even box art, eventually made their way online, as did a rating for the game over in Korea. After a few months of speculation, Bluepoint hasn't made any announcements regarding the game's launch, but we have now seen PS5 footage of Demon's Souls in action.

The footage in question that was shown of Demon's Souls comes from the original's opening area. The gameplay sees the player taking down a few basic enemies with some fancy new locations before then taking on a boss near the demo's end. In fitting Demon's Souls fashion, the boss fight doesn't go the player's way and they end up getting crushed into oblivion.

All in all, what is being shown off here looks fantastic in my own estimation. Not only do the visuals themselves look excellent, but the animation work is stellar.

Likely the most notable aspect of Demon's Souls though is the fact that Sony has also confirmed in a footnote that the game will also be coming to PC. This is a pretty surprising revelation, but it does line up with Sony's new initiative to bring games to the PC platform.
