Desperados Tabletop RPG Lets You Continue the Fun Without a Controller

If you're itching for more Desperados goodness, THQ Nordic has you covered with a new pen and paper RPG. Best of all, it's free.

Desperados 3 is an unmitigated success. Mimimi Games’ latest performed well critically and its “overwhelmingly positive” Steam reviews indicate that gamers as a whole agree. If you haven’t had a chance to try it out, I highly recommend you do so. But we’re not here to talk about Desperados 3 today. Instead, check out this publisher THQ Nordic’s new trailer for their tabletop RPG.

If you’re looking to step away from your screen, but still enjoy the Wild West of Desperados, this new RPG is perfect for you. It also looks to be easily playable remotely. So, if your usual game group can’t meet due to the current world conditions, Desperados Pen & Paper might be exactly what the doctor ordered. And the whole thing is free via

It’s hard to imagine a better deal than that. I’ve briefly read through the core rulebook and it seems like a relatively easy to play system. It’s a wonderfully illustrated book and includes several printable sheets to enhance your experience. Plus, there’s a pre-generated first adventure to help give your GM some extra inspiration.

Of course, if you’re not looking for a tabletop RPG, there are several great Western-themed board games. Personally, I would wholeheartedly recommend Bang! and Western Legends. You also can’t go wrong with Flick ‘Em Up. That said, whether it’s your first RPG or the medium is old hat, Desperados Pen & Paper looks like a fun, easy way to jump into your own version of the Wild West.
