Destiny 2 Update Patch Notes For Today (August 2)

A number of bug fixes for the Solstice Day event.

August 2, 2022

Destiny 2 update is now live across all platforms after brief server maintenance. The new patch is only a hotfix and doesn’t add any significant content to the game.

According to the official patch notes shared by Bungie, they have fixed more bugs related to the Solstice Day event as we are in the final week of the event. With the new patch, you won’t experience any issues when trying to complete the Solstice challenges with your second or third character class.

Also, the update fixes a few bugs regarding the rewards that you could obtain after completing even challenges, which you might have not faced in the game so far as they only occur in certain situations.

Below, you can check out the full patch notes for Destiny 2 update

Solstice 2022

    • The beacons are lit, fashion calls for aid!
  • Fixed an issue where players couldn’t reobtain armor from Eva Levante (Space Grandma) if armor has been dismantled after completing the step where players need to speak with her, post-equipping.
  • Fixed an issue where players weren’t receiving the Seashore Pack at the Eververse store.
    • Players can now grab their loot from Cryptarch.

  • Progress accelerators are now in place for players completing Solstice Event Challenges on second and third classes (Titan, Warlock, and Hunter, for any new players).
    • Partially fixed, progress accelerator missing on Hand Cannon challenge for Titans.
  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to progress second and third character armor sets after fully upgrading their primary Guardian’s armor.

August is going to be a pretty important month for Destiny 2 players as Season of the Haunted will come to an end later this month. Also, Bungie has already planned an exclusive showcase for the future of Destiny 2 on August 23, during which we will most likely get our first look at Lightfall, the next big expansion for Destiny 2 set to be launched in 2023.

This year’s The Witch Queen expansion was highly successful in satisfying fans both in terms of content and story, which sets high expectations for Lightfall as a sequel to The Witch Queen. While the storyline for Lightfall is yet to be revealed, Guardians will probably get to fight against The Witness. Also, more information is expected to be shared about the true nature of Traveller in the next expansion.

That being said, before we get our hands on Lightfall, there are two seasons ahead, each featuring its own set of story-driven questlines. With Season 17’s Bound in Sorrow questline, Bungie proved that they have significantly improved in delivering well-written storylines that sheds some light on the background stories of well-known characters in Destiny 2, such as Commander Zavalla.

So, fans really hope Bungie could expand this improvement into upcoming story-driven questlines in Season 18 and Season 19.
