Destiny Beta Will Be Open to All Japanese PlayStation Plus Members; No Pre-Order Required

Remember the rather awkward mishap in communication that brought Sony Computer Entertainment to announce that Destiny’s beta would be available to all PlayStation Plus members, then retracted blaming “incorrect wording?”

Looks like the offer is still valid…. at least in Japan where the game is exclusive to PlayStation Platforms. Sony announced that all Japanese PlayStation Plus members will indeed be able to take part in the beta without even needing to apply. No pre-order will be necessary. All they’ll have to do will be finding the game on the PSN store and download it.

Those that aren’t PlayStation Plus subscribers will still get a chance with a registration process, and a number of applicant will be chosen by lottery and accepted in the beta.

Unfortunately, as we already know, western PlayStation Plus members won’t get the same privilege, and need to pre-order the game if they want access.

Incidentally, below you can enjoy the official trailer of the game voiced in Japanese, and it feels like one of the most epic sci-fi anime. Bungie’s ties with the Japanese sci-fi production have never been a mystery, and seeing one of their games voiced in the language of Gundam definitely creates an uncanny effect.

He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
