Activision announced at PlayStation Experience 2016 today that a new update for Destiny: Rise of Iron is set to debut on December 13th, and it will bring back the Sparrow Racing League event alongside a host of other activities.

Revealed in a new trailer, the update, called The Dawning, will see the return of the competitive racing event from last year with new sparrows and tracks. New weapons, gear, masks, shaders, and emblems will be included as well.

The Icebreaker sniper rifle, a fan favorite exotic weapon, will also be returning.

The Dawning will run until January 3rd.

During Activision Blizzard’s financial conference call related to the quarter that ended on September 30th, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg talked more about the upcoming Destiny sequel that should come in 2017, saying it will be an "aweome sequel" and use a "smart approach" for additional content.
