Activision just released its financial results for the quarter ended on September 30th, and you can check them out below, showing a marked increase from the same quarter last year.

Activision1In addition to this, the company also announced that Destiny has 9.5 million registered users, and that active players play an average of three hours a day.

During the following earnings call for analysts and investors it was also mentioned by Activision Publishing head honcho Eric Hirshberg that Destiny‘s “next full game release” (IE: the second title of the franchise) is already in the works alongside “future expansion packs” for the first game.  Hirshberg also mentioned that the 9.5 million figure isn’t exactly the same as sell-through numbers, as some users have more than one registered profile.

World of Warcraft, it was also mentioned, now counts 7.4 million subscribers, up from the 6.8 million announced in the previous earnings release.

Below you can see the revenue specifics divided by platform mix (meaning with platforms of the same generation combined). Unfortunately no separate figures were offered for each console.

Interestingly, new generation consoles lag behind in GAAP revenues, while they jump to the top of non-GAAP numbers, which exclude the change in deferred net revenues.
