Hinterland Games has announced that Elias Toufexis, the voice of Deus Ex: Human Revolution's protagonist, Adam Jensen, has joined the cast of their Kickstarter-funded The Long Dark, alongside Mass Effect's Mark Meer.

In addition to his 2011 role as Adam Jensen, Toufexis is also known for his humorously maniacal performance as Andriy Kobin in 2010's Splinter Cell: Conviction. Toufexis  also appeared in this year's Splinter Cell Blacklist,  Assassin's Creed franchise (II, Brotherhood, and Revelations), I Am Alive, H.A.W.X., and Need for Speed Carbon, among others. Toufexis also has a long list of work in TV and film, including roles in Alphas, Smallville, and Stargate Atlantis.

“I love games with compelling stories that strive to set themselves apart, and The Long Dark is definitely that. The veteran team at Hinterland had me convinced right away that I needed to be part of this game,” Toufexis said in a press release.

The Long Dark is being developed by Hinterland Games. Base funding will allow for PC, Mac, and Linux versions of the game; stretch goals will add Oculus Rift Support along with a deeper score and expanded voice-acting. At the time of this posting, The Long Dark has amassed just over $70,000 of its $200,000 goal. You can check out the Kickstarter page here.
