In a Facebook post, Alexander Brandon announced that he’d be working with Retro Studios on an unannounced project.

“I’m currently working with Retro Studios here in Austin. As much as I’d like to say more (except the work is incredibly exciting and the team is awesome), I can’t.”

If you’re unfamiliar with Brandon’s work, he’s had a hand in a ton of classic franchises like Deus Ex, Unreal, Thief and most recently Torment: Tides of Numera.

Retro Studios is responsible for some of Nintendo’s best games from the past few generations.

Retro’s work includes the Donkey Kong Country series on Wii, Wii U, and 3DS  as well as the Metroid Prime trilogy on GameCube and Wii.

Retro Studios has not released a new game since Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and fans have been long awaiting their next big announcement.

Maybe we’ll see what the Brandon and Retro are collaborating on at E3 in June.
