Originally released last year, the independently-made Her Story quickly drew great critical praise and admiration for its unique presentation and an unorthodox approach to storytelling in games, with developer Sam Barlow hinting at a follow-up title.
Her Story creator Sam Barlow teased through Twitter of a sequel to Her Story, for now tentatively titled “Her Story 2,” with a one-page outline of the game posted (though blurred out for everything except the title).
With the game selling over 100,000 copies since its release last year and its great critical praise, the existence of a sequel title isn’t that surprising, and while details around a sequel to Her Story are obviously vague at the moment, Barlow provided a few more insights in his approach to a sequel when responding to fan questions.
Specifically, Barlow mentioned that the follow-up title would have “no relation story-wise to Her Story,” indicating that the new title would probably feature a new story, set of characters, etc. Barlow also explained that live-action performances would most likely feature again, mentioning “it’d be rude not to” utilize the game’s distinctive FMV videos again.
Her Story is available now on PC, Mac, and iOS.
