Production Director John Hight, Lead Designer Joshua Mosqueira, and Senior Designer Jason Bender discuss the major advantages of and features they've been able to incorporate in the Playstation 4 version of their title, Diablo III. Diablo III was released last year for the PC and Mac and will be released for both the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 on an unconfirmed date.

The major development theme of the console versions of Diablo III has been "streamlining but not simplifying"--in other words, customizing the control scheme of the game to fit a console controller without subtracting from the gaming elements themselves. And with a new radial style menu screen, easy dodging with a flick of the right analog stick and the "quick-equip" feature (by pressing the up button on the D-pad, you can choose between weapons that you recently picked up without opening your inventory), it seems Blizzard Entertainment is on the right track.

Another point discussed by the developers is the incorporation of the PS4's track pad into gameplay, although they didn't state how this would be done in the video. They did elaborate on another PS4 only feature, the "Share" button. This button on the controller allows the player to share videos and news with other players from around the world; in the world of Diablo III the developers want to encourage players to use the system in a similar way, to create a console based community not unlike what PC gamers have already established.
