After releasing Switch ports for both Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 2 throughout 2019, Capcom has finally announced plans to bring the third entry in the series to Nintendo's latest platform early next year.

Devil May Cry 3 is indeed coming to the Nintendo Switch and will be arriving on the platform on February 20, 2020. Similar to the previous two ports that landed on Switch, DMC3 will retail for $19.99. The version of the game that will be coming to Switch is that of the Special Edition, which includes the ability to play as Vergil and the Bloody Palace survival mode.

It's not a shock to see Devil May Cry 3 finally coming to Switch, but it's surely an addition to the platform's library that will please many. DMC3 has long been considered to perhaps be the best game in the beloved action franchise and to this day boasts an impressive 84 overall score on Metacritic. Only this year's earlier release of Devil May Cry 5 has a higher overall aggregate score within the franchise.

Capcom has previously brought the first three Devil May Cry games to other current platforms in a single HD Collection bundle, but it doesn't seem like that will end up being the case here on Switch. If you want to own all three games on Switch, you'll just have to pick them up separately from one another, which is kind of disappointing. Perhaps Capcom will announce a way to purchase all three games at once though for a lower total cost once we near the release of DMC3 in February.
