It was announced last month that Devil May Cry 5 would be released on both next-gen consoles in PS5 and Xbox Series X in a new Special Edition format that would feature improved graphics and new content. And while the game was only confirmed to release on day one for each console in a digital format, we now know when it'll be seen on store shelves.Capcom took to social media this morning and revealed that the physical edition of Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will arrive close to one month after the digital version and will release on December 1. The physical edition of the game comes donning new cover art that is, uhh, very busy, to say the least.

The biggest downside of Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is that it will not be available for a free upgrade if you already own the original game on PS4 or Xbox One. That said, there does seem to be quite a bit of new content that has been packed into this release making it quite a different game from the base version that launched last year. Likely the biggest addition is that of Vergil, who will be a playable character this time around. Because of this alone, I'm sure most hardcore DMC fans won't be too crestfallen about having to double-dip.

You can check out the first trailer for Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition down below if you'd like to see some of the game in action. Stay tuned as we near the launch of the title next month as we should hopefully have some impressions to share with you at that time.
