Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is one of the big launch titles for when next-gen consoles release in just a couple of weeks. The game launches digitally on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S the same day as the consoles arrive, before releasing digitally by the end of this year.

Capcom has already dazzled fans with details on the game's next-gen upgrades. These include a 4k/30fps mode to prioritize resolution, a 1080p/60fps mode to prioritize framerate and a 120fps mode for those looking for maximum smoothness. Capcom has also shown of Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition's ray tracing capabilities in a stunning trailer. While we knew both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X would feel the benefits of ray tracing, Capcom has provided fans with an update on the Xbox Series S and it's not good news.

Speaking on Twitter, Capcom said:

"While ray tracing will be available as a downloadable title update on Xbox Series X, Devil May Cry Special Edition will not support ray tracing on Xbox Series S."

This news will no doubt come as a disappointment for those purchasing the Series S and who were hoping it would be able to come close to matching its more powerful counterpart.

Alongside the news about ray tracing on the Xbox Series S, Capcom also shared more details about the upcoming Vergil DLC. While the  Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will include the DLC, players will be able to access it on PS4, Xbox One and PC a couple of weeks later. The content will be available to purchase on December 15 for only $4.99/£3.99.

In the update, Capcom also shared the news that any player who purchases the game before November 18 will receive 100,000 Red Orbs completely free. These orbs can be used to purchase new moves, Devil Breakers and bring you back from defeat.

Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is coming soon, launching November 10 on Xbox Series S/X and November 12 on PS5.
