Devolver Digital’s Upcoming Direct Will Happen in July “If All Goes Well”
Publisher Devolver Digital is planning to air its infamous indie press conference again next month depending on how production goes.
Known for its eclectic blend of indie games from a number of different developers, Devolver Digital has been known not only from its titles, but also for making a name for itself at E3. For the past several years, Devolver has presented several E3 press conferences that are quite “different” from what we usually see at the show, and it seems like we can expect the company’s 2020 presentation sometime next month.
Publisher Devolver Digital detailed on Twitter that the company is currently planning to air its next Devolver Direct presentation in mid-July “if all goes well with production.” Previously, the company had planned to air its presentation during E3 2020, but those plans were put on hold when E3 2020 was officially cancelled earlier this year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Devolver Direct 2020 will be mid July if all goes well with production.
This year will have some updates + release dates on upcoming games and a couple of new games to reveal – all with gameplay.
Can’t wait to share more soon!

Despite the cancellation of E3, Devolver Digital still was planning to move ahead with a showcase later this year, and it sounds like we can expect that to happen in about a month from now, depending on how its production goes due to the pandemic. At the moment, Devolver said that we can expect “some updates + release dates on upcoming games,” along with plenty of new reveals and gameplay footage.
The company first started presenting its own take on press conferences during E3 2017, where things notably got a little…bloody. That said, compared to the big, glitzy press conferences that we’ve traditionally seen from companies like Microsoft, Sony, EA, and Ubisoft over the years, Devolver’s more satirical take on an indie games showcase have always been refreshing, and hopefully we’ll see more of that next month. For the time being, I would recommend catching up on the “Devolver Digital Cinematic Universe” by watching their past press conferences; they’ll make for a great watch.
