After releasing its original trailer at the start of January, co-op survival horror title Devour has received an official launch trailer. The game releases today on Steam today for only €3.99 / £3.99 / $4.99.

Devour is developed by British indie studio Straight Back Games and looks absolutely terrifying. It's described by the developers below:

"As once devoted cult members, players in DEVOUR must steel themselves and work together to stop their cursed leader Anna Puerta from unleashing an unspeakable evil. With the goat demon Azazel possessing her after a ritual gone horribly wrong, Anna’s rage and power will grow with every step the players take in DEVOUR. In a race against time, the players burn ritual goats, evade a growing legion of demons, and ultimately hope to break Azazel's hold over Anna. "

The game can be played with between 1-4 players and the developers tease that "no two playthroughs [are] ever the same." The game doesn't require a top-end PC to play and the specs are as follows:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 7 – 64 Bit
  • Processor: Intel i5 or AMD equivalent (AMD FX 8500+ Series)
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: 2GB Video RAM
  • DirectX: Version 10
  • Storage: 4 GB available space

Straight Back Games' Devour joins a big list of exciting survival horror titles due for release this year. Joining it are the likes of Resident Evil Village, which we recently received a release date for, The Medium, which we just reviewed and Quantum Error. With the co-op horror elements, however, the game looks like it will be more akin to one of last year's surprise hits, Phasmophobia.

Keep your eyes peeled on the DualShockers YouTube channel as we have some Devour coverage coming very soon.
