Today marks the 20th anniversary of one of the game industry's most important releases. Diablo 2 lit the world on fire in 2000 and set the standard for action RPGs to this day. To celebrate this anniversary, Activision-Blizzard is putting out several new pieces of content. However, none of it comes close to matching the quality of Carbot's latest animation. Give it a watch below and be ready to feel transported right back to 2000.

As someone with a Diablo 2 playtime in the thousands of hours, this cartoon speaks to me. They just absolutely nail every aspect of playing D2 on dialup back in the day. From the perfect game list at the start to that stinking loading door, it's one of Carbot's best works yet.

Outside of the animation, the team at Activision-Blizzard has a few other events and releases planned. They put out a new Diablo 2 retrospective and MrLlamaSC is currently working his way through an intense speed-run.

And, if you want something physical, they have you covered. I mean, they have you covered if you're open to spending $140 on a massive bust of the Lord of Terror himself. Finally, the team is giving everyone who logs into Diablo 3 a new set of wings to equip on your character.

Of course, the thing everyone wants is a Diablo 2 remaster. We've heard word of one being in the works for a while now, but today is not the day it gets announced. Hopefully, that day comes sooner rather than later.

Until then, I'll just be busy watching that Carbot animation for the 20th time and enjoying the modded Diablo 2 experience.
