If you're anything like myself or Senior Editor Al Zamora, you're probably anxious to get your hands on the Ultimate Evil Edition -- which includes the Reaper of Souls expansion -- of Diablo 3. Having abused the game already on PC, I'm eager to take it to console with a few friends and revisit the game. What I'm not looking forward to is the massive download that may be looming over my PS4.

To download the game from the PlayStation Store entails downloading 64.7GB of data on the PlayStation 4. The retail version, funny enough, only occupies 41GB total.

While the  Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition download is known for PS4, there isn't any information for Microsoft's consoles as to the download size attributed to the title. What is known is that the retail version, according to Eurogamer's Digital Foundry, installed on Xbox One occupies over half the space required on the PS4 -- 21.82GB, to be exact.

The PS3 version of the game has 22.05GB of data on the disc, while the Xbox 360 version has 7.5GB (full dual-layer DVD capacity on disc), installed onto the machine's hard-drive. The discrepancy in size between the PS3 and 360 version has to do with the language packs on the PS3, which are about 3.5GB each.

There hasn't been any official word from Blizzard for clarification yet.

Update: It's been clarified that the aforementioned download size will only be affecting Europe, which is 58.4GB, with the US having a total download size of 26.1GB.
