Each of Diablo 4's regions is rife with things to uncover. Not only does this help the world feel alive, but it also extends the amount of time you can enjoy the game. Among the most interesting things hiding in the fog are Strongholds, centers of monstrous corruption for your character to find and cleanse.

Each Stronghold has its own layout, enemies, and goals (although they tend to be pretty straightforward). For those of you heading straight toward this content, or in need of a reminder on where to find it, here are the locations, requirements, and goals of each Stronghold in Fractured Peaks.

How Many Strongholds Are There In Fractured Peaks?

Each region in Diablo 4 has three Strongholds, and Fractured Peaks is no different. Strongholds are home to the Overworlds' most difficult enemies and can be completed once per character. If you'd like to complete a stronghold a second time, you'll need to start a new game or party up with a friend who hasn't done the stronghold.

While most of Diablo 4's enemies are level synced to your level, a Stronghold's enemies appear to have a level floor. This means that fighting them before you reach a zones' minimum intended level is very ill-advised.

Kor Dragan (Level 25)

Kor Dragan is a corrupted fortress on the Northern edge of the Fractured Peaks region. This Stronghold is filled with Vampiric enemies, which can only be banished if players destroy three Vampire Incubators. Each Vampiric Incubator is shielded by three small patches of corruption, which can be located by following the fleshy tendrils coming out of each incubator.

Once all three Vampiric Incubators have been destroyed, you can smash your way past a wall of corruption into the chapel. Inside this room is where you'll find Nilcar, the Forgotten Bishop. Nilcar isn't a particularly hard-hitting boss, but he's very mobile and summons powerful friends.

Upon defeating Nilcar, relight the Wanderer's Shrine to conquer the Stronghold and get 100 Renown.

Malnok (Level 23)

Malnok is a small town just South of the Bear Tribe refuge Waypoint. This Stronghold has been beset by an unnatural ice storm of epic proportions. The area has been overrun by the Ice Clan, and you will occasionally see an undead enemy spawn from the various townspeople that have been frozen solid.

To clear the Stronghold, you'll need to kill a daisy chain of connected enemies. The first challenge you'll see is actually the Stronghold's boss - a giant goat-man near the center of town with three icy wind tendrils extending from him to the nearby cliffs. He is immune (and thankfully non-aggressive) until you kill the Ice Clan Stormcallers on those cliffs. However, before you can kill those guys you need to kill their protectors the Ritual Guardians. So, expect to run up to each Stormcaller, attack them once, then fight a guardian, rinse, and repeat until all three are dead. Then fight the boss while dodging him and all the elites he summons.

After expelling those icy goats, relight the Wanderer's Shrine to clear the Stronghold, get your Renown, and gain access to an Altar of Lilith on the Southwest side of town.

Nostrava (Level 22)

The final Stronghold of The Fractured Peaks is immediately north of Nevesk (the town from the Prologue). This Stronghold initially appears like a random settlement until you enter the Church. Here, a group of NPCs is worshiping Lilith's demonic power and attempts to sacrifice you.

After dispatching all the cultists in the church, you'll need to search the houses in town for five Demonic Effiges. These look like altars and have trash mobs and elites guarding them. In some cases, the house will also have a survivor for you to rescue. Destroying the final construct will cause the church bell to start ringing - head there next.

Inside the church will be a succubus named Negala, Lilith's Chosen. She will spawn two more Succubi: Korzira and Torvala to assist with killing you. Each is a powerful, tanky magic user who attacks with a unique element. As an added challenge, they attack faster the lower the total health pool between them goes.

Because each of these boss monsters deals with a different element, you may find it helpful to initially focus on the one your struggle to dodge the most or have the fewest resistances against. This advice may not be necessary at normal game difficulties but is worth keeping in mind if you are playing at a high world tier.

After defeating Negala and her friends, relight the Wanderer's Shrine to conquer the Stronghold. Upon doing so, you'll receive 100 Renown, a new Waypoint, and access to an Altar of Lilith inside one of the houses.
