Diablo 4 is going to take the "average" player around 150 hours to reach level 100, according to the game's associate director Joseph Piepiora.

When asked by a fan to clarify a previous comment regarding the length of time it will take to reach level 100 in Diablo 4, Piepiora responded by saying, "Reaching level 100 will take 150+ hours for the average player experience." If you're a die-hard Diablo player, you might be able to reduce that time, but by the looks of things, players are going to be in for an absolute grind to reach level 100.

The fan's confusion was sparked by an interview Piepiora did with PC Gamer earlier this month, in which the game director said that Diablo 4's battle pass would take around 80 hours to be completed. But if you want to reach the maximum level in Diablo 4, which is 100, you'll need to continue the grind for a little while longer.

For those who are jumping from Diablo 3 to 4 when it releases this June, reaching the max level won't be as quick as it used to be. Diablo 3 players were previously reaching the max level, which is 70, in roughly 4 hours or so, depending on your skill set. But now it seems like the sheer amount of content is going to keep players occupied for quite some time.

However, despite Diablo 4's grind being rather intimidating to a casual player, Piepiora did state in his interview with PC Gamer that Blizzard doesn't want players to feel like they're stuck with Diablo 4 forever, saying, "One thing I do want to make sure it's really clear is we're not trying to create a situation where players feel that they must play forever." He then went on to say that Blizzard "wants players who play Diablo 4 to play and enjoy the experience while they're playing the game."

If you're all about the grind, Diablo 4 will be released this June, but Blizzard has already confirmed that a special 'Server Slam' event will take place in May. The event will give players the opportunity to try out the game's prologue and entire first act prior to its official release the following month.
