Diablo 4 won't be coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one, General Manager Rod Ferguson has revealed in a new tweet. "We’ve been getting some questions about D4 on Game Pass and I want to let you know we have no plans for that," Ferguson confirmed.

As we inch closer and closer to the first Diablo 4 beta this weekend, the developers have been sharing more information about the game. However, speculation regarding a possible release on Xbox Game Pass continued, especially knowing that the proposed acquisition of Activision-Blizzard by Microsoft is in the process and could be finalized later this year.

However, now it seems the same scenario that happened with Bethesda titles awaits Activision-Blizzard games as well. Even if the deal goes through, there is currently no plan to launch Diablo 4 directly on Xbox Game Pass, unless plans changed after its launch. Of course, the deal itself is facing some serious obstacles at the moment, with UK's CMA opposing the acquisition saying that it could hurt the competition in the industry.

Diablo 4 is currently targeting a June 6th release date. The game's early access beta session will run this weekend from March 16th until March 19th. This one will only be available for players who have already pre-purchased the game. However, an open-beta session will also go live this month between March 24th and March 26th, which will allow all fans to try out the game for free.

Although the upcoming beta is aimed to collect feedback from the community, players will be able to earn some rewards by playing the beta and carry them over to the final game when it launches. The rewards include a Wolf Pack cosmetic that can be unlocked by reaching level 20, as well as Initial Casualty and Early Voyager titles.

Hopefully, the upcoming beta sessions will be available across all the target platforms of the game, including current-gen and last-gen consoles as well as PC. While the final game is supposed to feature crossplay between platforms, it is yet to be known whether the feature would be active during the beta sessions or not.
