In a press release this morning, Blizzard announced that the highly-anticipated Diablo III will release in May 15.

That is, if you live in North America, Europe, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Taiwan/Hong Kong region. Hopeful players in Mexico and South America will have the option to digitally purchase the game via Blizzard's Battle.net site. Latin America and Russia will have to hold out until June 7. The company promises full localization support in English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, European Spanish, Italian, Polish, Russian, Korean, and Traditional Chinese.

Preorders for the game went on sale this morning.

CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment Mike Morhaime wrote:"After many years of hard work by our development team and months of beta testing by hundreds of thousands of dedicated players around the world, we're now in the homestretch. We look forward to putting the final polish on Diablo III over the next two months and delivering the ultimate action-RPG experience to gamers worldwide starting on May 15."
