July 29, 2018

During a livestream from Tokyo, following the reveal of the first trailer of Digimon Adventure,  Bandai Namco showcased first gameplay of the upcoming title.

We learn from Producers Kazumasa Habu and Katsuaki Tsuzuki that the game includes a “drama part” in which the story unfolds and a “battle part” in which there is plenty of combat against monsters.

In the drama part, it’s possible to make choices in order to survive, and to explore the environment around the plater. In the battle part, the combat happens with traditional turns, and energy can be spent to evolve the Digimon.

The videos below show both parts from the PS4 version. First, we see the drama part, and then we move on to battle. You can also check out the slides showcased during the presentation, including a few images.

Giuseppe Nelva

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
