While these games have already been announced, an update about their releases have been cloudy without an update. Thanks to an interview developer Codemasters gave to Eurogamer, we now have some details. Both DiRT 3 and Operation Flashpoint: Red River will be coming to a game system near you in 2011, between “April 1st and the end of June,” to be kind of exact.
CEO Rod Cousens also mentioned another little bit of information for you GRID lovers out there. It’s raining down in 2012, and the company seems to be taking an page out of Activision’s book, noting:
“We’re not difficult to predict,” he said. “If DiRT comes out next year, GRID will come out the following year, and then DiRT will be out the year after that. So you can map us out. Sitting alongside that will be F1 every year. Flashpoint we’ll do every other year. The idea is to come up with a new IP that sits in opposite years to each other, but we’re in the racing segment and the action segment.”
What ever happened to original ideas about how to release games? Oh yeah, this happened.
