"It sucks, we know. Seriously, we can't thank everyone enough for your support and excitement around DIRT 5, even since its reveal back in May. The positive feedback we've received from hands-on preview sessions has blown us away, too. The start line is now a little further away, but it's still very much in sight"

The delay has been implemented to ensure that the current-gen versions of Dirt 5 launch in a much closer time frame to its next-gen counterparts. Codemaster has also previously confirmed and then reiterated in today's statement that players who purchase Dirt 5 on either PS4 or Xbox One will still gain access to the relevant next-gen version of the game, free of charge, on launch.

Players can expect new Dirt 5 information and videos between now and the November 6 launch date as in a separate tweet, the developers stated that "we'll make sure to bring you loads more news and footage to keep you going to November."
