One of the games revealed at today's Inside Xbox event was Dirt 5, the next game in developer Codemasters' long-running series. As expected, the next-gen cars on Xbox Series X look incredible. However, the team had a fun surprise in store after the main show ended. Before we get to that, give the announce trailer a watch below.

Those cars sure do look pretty, don't they? The Dirt series is one of the better-regarded racers out there. This will be the fourteenth game in the Colin Mcrae Rally/Dirt series, so you have to imagine Codemasters has this thing pretty well figured out by now. Their brand of off-road racers is a must-try for anyone looking to get into the genre.

And now, the team is adding a few big names to the cast in Troy Baker and Nolan North. Dirt 4 has a great career mode and getting top-tier talent like Baker and North into the game seems like a logical step. Baker takes on the role of the mode's mentor, while North, naturally, is your nemesis. It all sounds fun and very on-brand for two of the bigger voice actors in video games. One of the other big additions is four-player split-screen play. So, if you want to relive those late-night Mario Kart shenanigans in a more realistic racer, you'll now be able to.

Dirt 5 launches on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in October. The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will come when those consoles launch. It will also come to Stadia in early 2021. If you're looking to push your next-gen console's hardware, Dirt 5 might be a great game to give a look.
