Discord Is Shutting Down the Nitro Games Library Because of Lack of Use

Discord announced that they will be shutting the library of games down in October due to lack of use.

After only being available for about a year, Discord is going to be shutting down the Nitro Games catalogue from its Nitro Subscription service. This comes right when the the subscription service was nearing its one-year anniversary.

For those of you who are unaware, (I don’t blame you if you are) Discord Nitro is a monthly subscription service and Nitro games was apart of that. On top of games, the service gives out animated emojis, new customization options, and a larger upload limit. However, Nitro Games mainly let players play from a limited number of titles.

Per Polygon, A Discord representative spoke to the cancelation in an announcement. “We learned a lot from all of you over the last year. Through your valuable feedback, it became clear that while we and some of you love these games, the truth is the vast majority of Nitro subscribers didn’t play them.”

The Nitro Games catalogue will be closing on October 15. Players who are still subscribed will have access to those titles up until that date. Discord also announced that users that would like to cancel their membership and get a refund can do so by contacting the company.

Discord will continue the Discord Nitro subscription service and will keep the price at $9.99 a month. The company will boost the file upload size to 100mb.
