Disgaea 3’s Absence of Detention Trailer is Chock-Full of Doods and New Vita Features

If you’ve been hotly anticipating the PlayStation Vita and its port of Disgaea 3, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that this new trailer shows off plenty of gameplay, including features exclusive to the version for Sony’s upcoming handheld such as touch controls and the like. And don’t worry, Disgaea fans, there’s plenty of Prinny “doods” to go around.

The title is chock-full of content, including all the DLC from 2008’s Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice. Probably the biggest Vita-exclusive features are the touch controls and addition of a GPS-based stat-boosting feature. The trailer’s presentation of the latter feature has me hooked simply because of its Indiana Jones-y aesthetic. You can check out the full trailer after the jump.

The game will also include two new character story arcs that haven’t been seen in any Disgaea 3 release yet. Oh, right: I promised you bad news. Disgaea 3: Absense of Detention won’t be out in time for the Vita’s launch in a couple of weeks, but NISA says we should have our hands on it this April. Just stay put and play the waiting game, folks.
