Today Nippon Ichi Software announced that its remaster of the original Disgaea titled Makai Senki Disgaea Refine will launch in Japan on July 26th.

The remaster of the 2003 PS2 classic will release for PS4 and Switch, and will cost 7,200 yen plus taxes in the standard edition, while the limited edition will cost 9,200 yen plus taxes for both platforms.

It features improved visuals for both graphics and character portraits, and the limited edition will include an original soundtrack CD, a special box, and a desk calendar.

You can check out the difference between the original and the new version below.

Alongside the announcement, we also get a large batch of screenshots showcasing characters and gameplay, giving a further good look at what the game looks like on PS4 and Switch.

You can check them all out below. Incidentally, while there was no mention in the announcement on whether the screenshots are from the PS4 or the Switch version, the button seem to indicate that we're looking at the port for Sony's console.
