Arkane Studios has posted to the Bethesda blog promising a patch for Dishonored 2 on PC to improve the game's performance. They state both the patch and its release notes will be available, "in the coming days."

Two issues specifically mentioned are inconsistent framerates and "an update to the mouse code for smoother input."

We have been monitoring the PC forums and social channels and while we're excited to hear that many of you are enjoying the game, we are disheartened that some of you are experiencing PC performance issues on some systems.

On Steam the game currently has "mixed" reviews. Most negative reviews with over 10 hours on record cite bad framerates on high-end PCs. Steam user ravvy mentioned some specific issues in their review with 6.4 hours on record:

As a side note, I wanna talk about the consistant and obnoxious bugs I've encountered in the short time I've been able to play the game. So on top of the poor optimization, there are also audio bugs, where audio will cut seemingly at random. This is not just dialouge either. Combat music and sound effects such as hitting your blade against a wall will refuse to play a sound. Or once it does, it'll stop without warning as if interupted by something. I've had Emily killed by the odd physics a few times too, such as setting a sleeping body down on the ground and watching it fly back to kill me, or setting down a tank of whale oil only to have it explode mysteriously.
