While it may not be Kingdom Hearts like everyone was wanting, at least there's one Disney game coming to the Nintendo Switch. Today, during the publisher's highly anticipated Nintendo Direct, the House of Mouse announced a brand new game for Nintendo's latest console, titled Disney Tsum Tsum Festival.

If you're a Disney fan and that name sounds familiar to you, it should. Tsum Tsum is a popular line of miniature stuffed animal plushes based on some of Disney's most popular characters, including those featured in Pixar films. The line was originally released in Japan before finally making their way to the west.

The game itself is actually packed with a surprising amount of content. Included in the box is a ton of small mini-games featuring the Tsum Tsum's themselves, including Air Hockey, Curling, and more. On top of that, the game also features the original mobile game that was released a couple years back. Interestingly enough, playing the older game requires you to hold the Switch vertically, something that very few games take advantage of. As of the time of this writing, it's unknown whether or not you'll be able to transfer over your existing account from the game, although I highly doubt it. It'll be interesting to see how many Tsum Tsums will be included from the game, as Disney has even started making plushes based on Marvel and Star Wars characters.

Of course, you'll also be able to play certain modes from the game online, so long as you have a Nintendo Online Subscription, of course.

An announcement trailer was also revealed for the game, however, it doesn't really feature any gameplay. Still, if you want to check out it out, you can find it at the end of the article. It is worth noting, however, that the original Direct presentation DID show gameplay, so why that wasn't included in the trailer is beyond me.

Disney Tsum Tsum Festival is set to be released sometime in September 2019 and will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch. As of the time of this writing, there's no word on how much the game will cost.
