Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Reveals Final Fantasy XV’s Ardyn Izunia As Next Fighter

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT's brand new fighter revealed at Jump Festa 2020 is none other than Ardyn Izunia, Final Fantasy XV's main antagonist.

Square Enix dropped a brand trailer at Jump Festa 2020 revealing their next combatant for the fighting game Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. Said character is none other than Ardyn Izunia, the main villain from Final Fantasy XV, who will be coming to Dissidia on December 24th in the Japanese only arcade version and January 9th worldwide on PS4 and PC:

In the game players have access to both his trademark attire from FFXV, as well as his healer clothes from his days as such. You can check out the gameplay trailer below showcasing his abilities, which are similar to Noctis’s own. Like Noctis he seems to be an Assassin type character who most likely has an EX Skill similar to Warp-Strike:

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT has been regularly getting new characters such as Tifa from Final Fantasy VII and the most recently announced Gabranth from Final Fantasy XII. New costumes were also added, such as both Cloud and Squall’s Kingdom Hearts looks as well as a free trial version of the game launched by the company.

It’s possible that we could eventually be seeing Zack from FFVII appear in the future. According to Game Director Takeo Kujiraoka during a TGS interview last year, he stated in his own words: “The Japanese voice actor who plays Zack even came up to me and said he wants to appear in the game, so I think we’ll have to get around to him eventually.”

DualShockers also spoke with the game director about the future of the Dissidia franchise. For fans of the older titles, Kujiraoka stated he’d be interested in trying a more traditional one-on-one game but said it wouldn’t really be possible to implement anything like that in the latest title.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is available now on PS4 and PC. You can also try the free-to-play version of the game on all of the previously mentioned platforms.
